The Japanese legend of Marimo
It all began with a love story between a hunter and the daughter of a village chief. To escape the families who wanted to keep them apart, they took refuge on the shores of Lake Akan, in Hokkaidō, Japan. After their death, their spirits became magnificent green spheres, embodying the perfection of human feelings. According to the Ainu people, the spirits of Senato and Manibe turned into Marimo so they could live their love for eternity.

Every Marimo sold online must be shipped with a label bearing the European Plant Passport, or alternatively with the Passport printed on the packaging. Only Professional Operators registered with RUOP (the regional plant health service) are authorised to sell and certify Marimo.
